Moreton Bay

There may not be anything more magnificent than the anchorages offMoreton Island, especially the areas of Sand Hills, Days Gutter, and TangaloomaWrecks. As you cruise into the area’s northern region, you’ll come to St.Helena and North Stradbroke, where fishing seems to always be good, accordingto the locals and the mariners for the season.

Boat into the island's western side to Myora, perhaps the most tranquilof all areas in this region. It offers a freshwater spring that’s quiteinviting. Get your feet in the sand at Horseshoe Bay while visiting thesouthern area of Peel Island next. For boating lovers, Moreton Bay is one ofthe most interesting and serene locations to explore. With numerous marinas toexplore and always a calm breeze in your sail, it’s easy to relax away from thesummer here.

SunshineCoast

The Sunshine Coast is mesmerizing at first glance. The beautiful waters, sandy beaches, and dramatic cliffs and peaks make for such a striking view. It’s also the ideal location for a laid-back lifestyle, one that offers naturaldelights and experiences of all types. For bigger city lifestyle exploration, stop off atMaroochydore. Many will also want to pass through the Punicestone Passage. Thispassage cuts between the Queensland mainland and Bribie Island. If you visitduring the warmer months, you’ll likely see whales breaching. The fishing inthis area is fantastic as well, even for the seasoned deep-sea angler.

K’Gari(Fraser Island) K’Gari

Every person sailing the region must experience the incredibly diverse landscapesand wildlife of K’gari, also known as Fraser Island. This is a World Heritagesite, a true sand island situated in the southeastern portion of the wideBay-Burnett area. It’s about 360km from Brisbane but worlds away in every othermanner.

Stop off at the marina here to explore the beaches and sandblows. Thewater is shimmering with life. A few holiday resorts are here as well, but youmay find it even more adventurous to explore wilderness camping. From 4WDtracks down the white sand beaches to swimming in the essential oil-infusedlake (that’s where natural tea tree oil is known to come from), there’s awonderland to explore here.
