The Boat Production Process

At Spirit Marine Queensland, we pride ourselves on making the journey from purchase to handover an enjoyable and transparent experience. Each boat we import is the result of world-class craftsmanship, careful coordination, and dedicated service at every stage.

Below is a high-level overview of the key steps involved in bringing your new boat from the factory to you.

1. Sales Contract and Order Confirmation

Once you’ve selected your preferred model, specifications, and optional equipment, we prepare a formal Sales Contract for your review and signature.

This document outlines all key details — pricing, inclusions, estimated delivery timelines, and payment milestones. Upon receipt of your signed contract and initial Progress Payment, your production slot is confirmed with the manufacturer. At this stage, our team provides an overview of the expected timeline.

2. Factory Production

With your order confirmed, the boat enters production at the manufacturer’s facility.
This phase includes hull construction, systems installation, engine fit-out, and interior finishing.
Typical build times vary depending on model and specification.

3. Pre-Shipment Inspection and Shipping

Once the vessel is completed, it undergoes a detailed pre-delivery inspection at the factory to ensure all specifications have been met and quality standards are achieved.
The boat is then prepared for international shipment, carefully packed and secured for sea freight.
We handle all logistics, including export documentation, customs coordination, and marine insurance, ensuring a smooth and compliant importation process into Australia.

4. Importation and Customs Clearance

Upon arrival in Australia, our logistics team oversees customs clearance and quarantine inspections in accordance with Australian Border Force and biosecurity regulations.
Any import duties, GST, and port fees are settled as part of this process, after which the boat is released for local transport to our commissioning facility at Hope Harbour Marina, or another designated location.

5. Commissioning and Quality Assurance

Once landed, the vessel enters commissioning — the process of preparing and testing it for handover.
Our experienced technicians fit any locally supplied accessories or electronics, conduct engine and system checks, and perform sea trials to verify performance and safety.
The boat is then cleaned, detailed, and finalised to showroom condition, ready for delivery.

6. Handover and Orientation

The final stage is your handover experience — an exciting milestone where your new boat becomes yours. Our team conducts a full walkthrough, explaining onboard systems, maintenance requirements, and warranty coverage. We also assist with registration and documentation where required.

Once complete, the keys are yours and your boating journey begins — with the confidence of knowing our after-sales team remains available for support and service.

Your Journey, Our Commitment

From signing your contract to taking your first voyage, our goal is to make the entire process seamless and enjoyable. We handle the complexities of international coordination so you can focus on what matters most — enjoying the water in your new Beneteau or chosen brand of vessel.
